Each employee has at least one formal appraisal a year. In an open, two-way-communication with the manager s/he will get feedback on work performance and professional development and develop a competence plan with measurable objectives. 

Internal Job Market
Atlas Copco has a transparent internal job market where all vacant positions are advertised, accessible for all employees. All employees are, on equal terms, free to apply for any job that they are qualified for at their own initiative.

Coaching  
A key responsibility for all managers at Atlas Copco is to help his/her employees to grow to new positions. Coaching is about giving guidance, helping to identify possible development opportunities for the employee's long-term professional growth.
